Quick Select

Four rows from luminaire requirement to Tridonic shortlist

Quick Select organizes the variables that separate a workable driver from a wattage match. Record delivered-light intent, installation method, environmental duty and dimming interface before requesting exact model documentation.

Build the shortlist in sequence

01

Output and light intent

Start with the LED module current and forward-voltage range. If the module is not fixed, state the target luminous flux, efficacy, CCT and CRI so the electrical choice remains connected to light-engine performance.

02

Mounting and enclosure

Record remote, in-luminaire, track, ceiling-void or DIN-rail installation. Include available volume, wiring class, thermal interface, service access and the maximum expected ambient temperature.

03

IP and electrical duty

Identify input voltage, surge environment, ingress target and any emergency circuit. Remember that component IP, surge and safety data do not establish complete-luminaire or site compliance.

04

Dimming interface

Choose DALI-2, 0-10V, phase-cut, PWM, resistance or fixed output. Define dim-to-off, minimum level, addressing, sensor or gateway connection and commissioning ownership.

Selection rows for procurement and engineering

Use operating values rather than catalog maxima. Unknown inputs should be marked open so the shortlist does not turn an estimate into a hidden requirement.

Decision rowRecordEvidence to request
LED loadCurrent, minimum/maximum forward voltage, load power and toleranceOutput window, programming limits and overload behavior
InstallationMounting position, enclosure, ambient and service accessThermal limits, derating curve and installation instructions
ProtectionInput, IP need, surge exposure and emergency roleApplicable safety scope, ingress data and coordinated protection notes
ControlInterface, minimum level, off behavior, zones and network roleWiring diagram, compatibility guidance and commissioning record

A defensible choice uses the exact suffix and configuration. Bench validation in the intended luminaire should confirm output current, input power, dimming response and thermal behavior. Changes to the LED module, enclosure, controller or programmed current require a renewed review.
